Stu Watts chats with Greg Rietwyk, who is a songwriter, guitarist, producer and mix engineer from Melbourne, Australia. With a keen ear for honest, raw and organic productions, Greg has become a fixture in the Australian garage and indie rock scenes.
Working with notable acts such as The Pretty Littles, Mid City, Bec Stevens, Money Boys & Neighbourhood Youth, as well as songwriting, production and mixing for his own band Press Club, who have released three critically acclaimed self-produced LP’s - their last effort “Endless Motion” landing at #15 on Double J’s 50 best albums of 2023.
Greg has freelanced out of many of the best Melbourne studios including Woodstock, The Aviary, Sing Sing & Tender Trap. He is currently working out of Wrangler Studios in West Footscray, which has recently been converted from a DIY all ages punk venue to a studio with multiple mix spaces, iso booths and space to comfortably track bands live.
Over his past 15 years in the industry Greg has toured both nationally and internationally, and played some of the biggest festivals in Europe, and Australia. Drawing on his experiences and network in the music industry Greg hopes to educate and inspire the next generation of young musicians.
